Hagan and Matt. A couple we will never forget. How many brides do you know who are willing to throw-down in a dance circle and crab-walk in their wedding dress!? This wedding was all about combining the elegance of a garden & gun style wedding and reception with hidden details that let you know the couple loved to have fun.
The Omni Grove Park Inn Terraces are an incredible setting for a wedding. You have a 180 degree view of the mountains and downtown Asheville on one side, and on the other you are surrounded by the elegance of the hotel with its stone façade. The design was all about enhancing these two elements. Floral was kept neutral with lots of greenery mixed with ivory and cream flowers

Just check out the bridal party: those gorgeous, floor-length, lace bridesmaid dresses, and then those FANTASTIC American flag groomsmen shirts. The wedding in a nut-shell.
We brought in a clear-top tent to make the space feel intimate and elegant without taking away from the view, and added a huge chandelier and twinkle lights for some elegance. The reception was cocktail style, so we created a lot of different places for guests to sit and congregate, and mixing in some lounge furniture was a must for Hagan. Calla Lilies are one of Hagan’s favorite flowers, so her mom Benita surprised her with submerged Calla Lilies in the lounge area.
Hagan’s father designed the groom’s cake. One of the first things Hagan told us about Matt was his love of pizza. I mean everyone loves pizza but Matt really, really REALLY loves pizza. So the grooms cake; a pizza (of course) – is the rat in the doctors coat throwing you off? Matt had recently graduated from medical school (go Matt!) and his nickname is Rat (sorry Matt).
From our very first conversation with Hagan and Matt it was clear that their priority was for their guests to have fun. The dance floor was packed to the max all night as the guests jammed out with 18-Karat Gold, a fantastic ten piece band from Atlanta.
Late-night: Little hats were passed out at the request of the bride, guests had lots of fun with them taking silly pictures.
As a final surprise for her husband, Hagan arranged for fireworks to go off at their departure.
Bring a group from Alabama to the mountains in North Carolina and what do you get? And elegant garden & gun style wedding and reception, and a group of the most serious partiers we’ve ever seen.
Congratulations Hagan and Matt! We wish you many years of laughter and dancing!
xoxo
