we just love our old edwards inn weddings! old edwards inn in highlands, nc is an amazingly beautiful venue for a wedding. the ceremony space is set in a manicured garden, complete with a gorgeous draped tent. the bridal house is a sweet little waiting space for the bride to emerge from, at the right moment of course. the reception barn and pavilion are grand spaces that even with their size create an inviting feeling. and when the weather is right, opening the glass walls creates a great inside outside flow. the farm and pavilion are blank slates that can be decorated in endless looks and every single one looks amazing!
lindsey + brendan chose early june for their nuptials and hired us (our girl brittany planned this one! read about her and our other highlands wedding planners!) to help plan their big day. lindsey and her mom anne had a great idea of how they wanted the wedding to look so it was just getting it to come to life. lindsey described her wedding as classic, bold and effervescent, not wanting it to be a stuffy affair caught up in pomp and circumstance but rather a reflection of their personalities and relationship. they wanted it to be timeless with elements of traditional but also still embody their style and be unique, memorable, and lively. they decided on a color palette of green, silver gray and white to play off the natural setting of the venue and added subtle touches to make it unique. during our planning process lindsey said “we want the guests to have fun, first and foremost. we want them to feel as if the event embodies our relationship and celebrates our marriage, but not be bombarded by décor and centerpieces and flowers. it should be a carefree evening where the guests don’t have to worry about anything but enjoying themselves.” and let me tell you, their guests had the night of their lives! the dance floor was full the entire night, lindsey + brendan even rocked it out with the band on stage!
this pretty much summed up the whole night! lindsey, brendan + their friends and family danced the night away! we even had customized sunglasses for everyone! such a fun group!
