asheville-wedding

today was the first day i have worked from home in…well, i cannot tell you when.  life has been full of wonderful moments.  lots of fantastic weddings, including me being a bridesmaid in my best friend from middle school’s wedding {more on that later}, an amazing conference in the cayman islands {ahem, can we go back please?}…with life’s sweetest moments at home all the while.  it was wonderful just being home today.  and seeing our dog {you can call her chelsea.  but she probably still will not come} all curled up and ready for turkey day.  i’m sorry, but she is pretty dang cute if i do say so myself.

so although it has been awhile for our little blog here…know that we cannot wait to share new posts and weddings with you, along with what has been going on in life in general.  and i often {okay, always} feel guilty for not blogging.   but the truth is, life’s moments are happening all around me, and i am loving every. last. minute.  i have walked away from this last conference, engage!11, incredibly inspired, busting with ideas {jennifer, maria, brittany, and ian ~ i apologize in advance}, and sometimes you just need to let all of it soak in. and enjoy the moments around you.

wishing you and your family a very, very happy thanksgiving!  xoxo, nicole

a biltmore wedding is our featured wedding this week on the wednesday rewind!  below are a few of our favorite pics of jess and mike’s wedding that took place at the inn on biltmore estate.  i love all the color and how they made the wedding truly unique to them.  there were games for those who did not want to dance, a fun candy bar, and an amazing super mario brothers cake with the cake topper hand made by the bride!

many thanks to fellow asheville vendors behind this wedding: {photographer} two ring studios ; {venue} the biltmore estate ; {florist} the flower gallery ; {makeup} makeup at the grove arcade ; {hair} the secret spa

we love nothing more than giving back…especially when it is wedding related!  so in honor of breast cancer awareness month, we wanted to let you all know about this wonderful cause.  below is more information about them from their website:

“Brides Against Breast CancerTM” gown sales continue to be important fund-raising events for Making Memories. Our more than 32 yearly shows provide brides-to-be with an opportunity to find their dream gown (at an incredible savings) while making wishes and dreams come true for women and men who are losing their fight against breast cancer.

The worldwide support of designers, manufacturers, bridal shops and individuals (who donate a most treasured possession) make possible our Nationwide Tour of Gowns sales.  The proceeds from these events help bring a moment of joy into world of someone for whom a cure is too late.

be sure to visit their website and see how you can help!

we had the pleasure of working with rebecca and beau for their wedding not to long ago.  their ceremony and reception were held at the waynesville inn, and they had some spectacular details!!  rebecca had a great vision that stacey from the bloom room implemented through the floral.  check out these details taken by my handsome hub ian!  here a few from the ceremony…

notice the “h” blanket on the lounge, a nod to camp highlander, the bride’s families camp where the wedding was held.  and do you see the dress change and the boots? so cute!  all the bridesmaids also changed into their best cowboy boots.  i love all the signs, handmade by the bride and her family!

what a cute idea!  they took a hutch and filled it with the plates and rolled silverware.  and yes, every roll of silverware was complete with a tag on it tied with twine.
