this wedding has all the elements that just makes this southern girl swoon ~ hydrangeas, peonies, monograms, and just simply southern details. wendy came to us from mississippi where she was a news anchor {now one in arkansas, and neighbors with her photographer michael…small world, no?} with a very clear vision of what she imagined.  all of the fabric was custom..from the pillows to the table runner at the head table.  one of my favorite elements is utilizing the benches at deerpark on the biltmore estate, and making them comfortable for the guests with the blankets and custom made pillows.  the same pattern from the fabric and the pillows carried through on the wedding cake…major southern goodness, ya’ll!  with a splash of pink on top!

so… a few weeks ago i let my inner beyonce loose at an event that took place at the grand bohemian.  that’s right.  and for some reason, i am putting it right here for everyone to see.  i have held on to this video {thank you jill for capturing}, refusing to put it up on the world wide web.  however my hubs decided to put in on facebook a few days ago…so i thought, hey – that wasn’t so bad!  and i thought long and hard before putting this for prospective and current brides to see {read: don’t judge me}.  however, i came to the conclusion that i, along with about 20 other lovely ladies, worked hard to learn this dance from the fabulous kathleen hahn of i do dances. i started the “all the single ladies” dance class because, well, i love to dance.  and i wanted a different way to exercise.  so i mustered up the courage to go to the first class.  and fell in love.  not only with dancing again, but also with kathleen.  she made it so easy, and so fun, that i truly could not wait for the next monday night class when all us ladies got together to shake it.

so if you are wanting a little something different for your first dance or your father daughter dance…call kathleen.  like now.  i promise it will be so much fun!  and if you are local – you can get in on the fun too!!  she has just started a new class on monday nights at 6:00 at homewood – and at 7:15, she is teaching some janet jackson “all for you” {yep, you will see me there}.

in the video i am dancing with kathleen. so here it goes…. enjoy!  and promise not to laugh at me.  ~ nicole
