as promised, here are some of my favorite shots from the reception of julie and bj at laurel ridge country club in waynesville, nc.  the details were truly amazing, executed perfectly by the team at blossoms at biltmore park.  i am absolutely in love with the custom chair wraps!  my advice ~ if you can’t swing to do this for all of your 200 guests, no worries ~ do it just at the head table!  instead of doing something small for 200, do something amazing in the center of the room for 20.  and make sure your stationary is incorporated in all elements of the wedding.  it will provide consistency that is noticed.  {all below done by the baggie goose in biltmore village}  and the cake? make it a spotlight.  we pinpoint lit this cake so that it was a focus in the room ~ who wouldn’t want to focus on this cake?!?  not only did it looked good, but it tasted good too ~ thanks to melissa at cakes by jane!  and don’t forget your guests ~ make them comfortable and give them some dancing shoes as the night rolls on.  in my opinion, this never goes out of style!  and of course, many thanks again to jill schwarzkopf with realities photography for the images

congrats julie and bj!  we wish you the best always!!

this past may, we had the pleasure of working with julie and bj for their wedding in waynesville ~ the details of this wedding were stunning!!  with many meetings with julie’s mom, virginia, and the ever so talented adrienne from blossoms at biltmore park, we came upon the colors of citron green and lemon yellow.  i absolutely loved how all the colors were worked into the linens, the flowers, the stationary.  but even more, i loved the sweet emotion from this day. below are some of my favorite pics from the ceremony…stay tuned for the reception!  thanks to jill schwarzkopf for the gorgeous pics!

the wedding cake is a signature piece to the reception. it is a wedding tradition dating back to the Roman era and has been a tradition for 1000’s of years. the story is that it started as a symbol of fertility. the idea of the husband breaking the cake over the wife’s head in hopes she would bring him many children. this was his way of showing he was ready to start a family. romantic or rude? i am all about doing many things, but cake crumbled on my head , i’m not so sure! it was also believed to be good luck for the guests to eat the crumbs. many years later, wedding cake began to be served in layers and yummy frosting. today it’s not just about the cake, but how it’s presented with lighting, special linens, fresh flowers, and even personal toppers.

the day really could not have been any better for rachel and steven out at lake eden for their wedding day a few weeks ago!  although a little warm, the rain held off, and it was an absolutely beautiful july day, much like we had hoped for when we toured venues on a snowy day in january.  there was literally snow on the ground everywhere we went!  when the botto family stepped on the lake eden property, they know that was it.  the search was over!  from that point on, we helped pull together all the vendors, design, and details for their wedding….they were such a joy to work with through the entire planning process.

i absolutely loved their “summer time party” theme with the colors of navy, green, and pink.  we worked closely with stacey from the bloom room who did an absolutely amazing job!

and the food…oh the food…fantastic as always by our favorite girls at the colorful palate.  somehow the even kept rachel and steven’s favorite ice cream from kentucky frozen until it was time to serve in ice cream shots after dinner!

so without further ado….here is their slideshow created by their photographers, Jill and Ian with Realities Photography
