as promised, although a little delayed,  here are the pics of rachel and dan’s personal touches and details from there wedding at deerpark on the biltmore estate.  the color palate consisted of chocolate and baby blue, with accents of green ~ such a classic look!   rachel and dan are huge gator fans, and their table names reflected this.  i love this in a wedding – don’t use just numbers, do something that reflects you as a couple.

fabulous design and decor by blossoms at biltmore park ~ as usual, it knocked my socks off!

here are a few of my favorite details of the day…. {all images courtesy of michael oppenheim}

~ enjoy! nicole

in their welcome bags, you got it, blue and orange “gator”ade!  and they even entered their wedding to the classic florida gator chomp {insert music}.

it’s interesting as planners to hear what is most important to couples when it comes to their wedding.  we work with so many different personalities, which is why we love what we do!  for some it’s the dress or the flowers.  for others it’s the details or maybe the food.  each week we will address different topics, and share our knowledge.

stayed tuned for ~the flow of my reception~

what better thank you can we get?  as i was pinning the boutonniere on the father of the bride, the mother of the bride virginia, just looked at me and her eyes welled up with tears.  i gave her a hug, and the fabulous jill schwarzkopf captured this moment.  thank you for this jill.  makes my heart warm!

when i opened the mail today, i had a letter from virginia.  thought i would share parts of it…

” wow! what a wedding, huh? thank you so much for all you did to provide julie with a truly magical day.  it was perfect! i could never have done any of it without your help. you are fantastic.  along with your professional knowledge, skill and guidance, your moral support and friendship were invaluable….”

i do not write this for any ego boost, but as planners, sometimes it is hard to describe what all we do leading up to and during the big day.  we have a passion for what we do.  and we hope that it shows.  we want the day to be the most perfect day ever for you and your family.  there are many, many weddings i cry at [yes, i was also crying in this picture].  why? don’t i get used to all the emotion?  well, no.  each bride is so different, and we value that connection we have with our clients.

so jill, thank you for capturing this moment.  and virginia, i am looking forward to seeing you again and sharing that glass of wine!  my best to you and your family always.  thank you for allowing me to be a part of such an incredible day.

so to say that i was a little excited when i received an invitation to the grace ormonde weddings in style book launch party may be something of an understatement!  there were several vendors with us in hotlanta  {and by hot i mean a little rainy and humid, hence, hair up} on monday night for the party.  their were fabulous drinks {again notice drink in hand}, passed yummy treats, followed by cookie ice cream sandwiches and milkshake shots…but nothing surpassed the joy of meeting grace herself.   thank you to all the folks at grace ormonde for a lovely night, and for the invite….i am honored!!

the month of may brings many holidays and reasons to celebrate.  there’s cinco de mayo, mothers day, and memorial day. the weather is warm, farmers are planting their gardens, the beauty of  life is here!  may brings the smell of fresh cut grass, cookouts and smiling faces. it is the month of festivals ~  the festival of flowers, the french broad river festival, LEAF (lake eden arts festival), and the mountain sports festival. may is also one of the most popular months to wed!  perhaps it has to do with the nice weather, that everything is green again, or maybe people have been cooped up all winter and are ready to celebrate. for some may might be the perfect wedding month since it’s not football season!  it could do with the saying april showers, may flowers.  i married in may (8 years today, happy anniversary baby!)  whatever the reason, may weddings are fun and inspiring.  there’s so many great flowers, colors, fresh local foods and perfect mountain air ~ warm during the day, breezy at night!
